The leading online trading company for mechanical engineering components in Japan and Asia is expanding its presence in Europe. The successful concept of quick availability of articles from customer order production in combination with stock goods supports the rapid growth of the company. The task was to create the logistics platform for a considerable expansion of the warehouse assortment as well as the same-day cross-dock handling of the order items manufactured in Asia, which are delivered by air freight overnight.
Due to the rapid growth of the company, a manual warehouse variant with short-term capacity expansion was initially implemented. This will be expanded in a parallel expansion step by a highly automated solution with automatic storage and sorting function.
